The eighth of the panel series will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Rezan Has Museum with the speech of Hittitologist Sezer Seçer Fidan, PhD.
In her speech titled “An Important Turning Point in the Historical Development of Writing for Anatolia: Hittite”, Sezer Seçer Fidan will talk about the initial stages and development of writing, which forms the basis of human communication, cuneiform, which was used in Anatolia for 2 thousand years, and Hittite, which enabled cuneiform to be used as an active script for the first time. The panel will touch on topics such as how Hittite was applied to cuneiform, the decipherment of Hittite, how a tablet was written, and how it was read.
*The panel will be held in Turkish. Participation is open to everyone and free.
