Anatolian Languages and Cultures Panel II

The “Anatolian Languages and Cultures” panel series within the scope of the Whispers of Extinct Languages III Online Exhibition continue.

The first of the panel series had started with the opening speech on March 21st, 2024. The second of the panel series, has taken place on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at Rezan Has Museum with Prof. Dr. Hamdi Şahin’s speech from Istanbul University, Department of History, Ancient History Department.

Prof. Dr. Hamdi Şahin, focused on the place, nature and importance of ancient literary texts in Ancient History research, which are the main sources of Classical Philology, from a critical perspective in his speech titled “Ancient History and Classical Philology: On the Nature of Ancient Literary Texts”. He made evaluations on the ancient literary texts in the context of the disciplines of Ancient History, Classical Philology and Classical Archaeology.

*The panel is open to all participants and free of charge. Panel language is Turkish.
